Wonderful in every way. The staff was incredible. The restaurant was world class, pricey but the food was definitely in the fine dining category.

Our stay at Heulwen Guest House was so delightful that we didn't want to leave. Our hosts' welcome was warm and the room was immaculate and cozy. We could step out of our room onto a patio, gaze at the breathtaking view of the meadows, the baby lambs, and the mountains, immersing ourselves in the joy of being in nature whilst luxuriating in comfort. Our days began with a bountiful and hearty full English breakfast cooked to order, and served by Heulwen and Andy not only with a smile, but with genuine joy. Heulwen and Andy were always at the ready with directions and suggestions for our forays from the bungalow. The house is decorated with the most exquisite taste, and although we were blessed with unusually good weather during our stay, we could imagine the pleasures to be had from lounging in the sitting room with a good book on a rainy day. Given the serenity to be enjoyed at this bed and breakfast, it's all the more felicitous that it is located only about ten minutes' drive from Dolgellau, a beautiful old town of stone structures with a number of shops and good restaurants. We can't wait to go back and stay at Heulwen Guest House again.

Had character- also had everything a traveler could want. It was close to town center and was nicely decorated. It felt like we were going back in time.

Highly recommended. Friendly welcome, exceptional quality throughout, perfect location for our requirements and the breakfast was spot on. The small stairs presented a challenge for my size 13 feet but that's part of the charm of the place.

There are plenty of bistros and pubs in the town. We ate in the Torrent Walk hotel and the food was beautiful and plentiful. There was live music over the weekend in the town which was a great addition.
There are lots of country walks and a short drive to the beach at Barmouth.

Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs etc easily accessible. Main car park by the river is on the edge of town but a minutes walk away from the centre. There could be more choice of restaurants and cafes but we found a hotel (The Ship) that served good food.

The parking was not good steep narrow road I think once inside the property there was 44 steps or stairs some very steep and narrow, wouldn’t recommend to guests with any type of mobility issues. Lounge furniture needs replacing very old and uncomfortable lounge smelt musty. One of the bedrooms very damp with mushroom type mould Growing on wall and carpet. Bathrooms very nice modern plenty of them. Everything you needed supplied in the kitchen. Beds very comfortable lovely bedding. Garden unkempt and garden furniture rusty.

A well maintained property, with delightful hosts.
A well maintained property, with delightful hosts. Breakfasts very good.
Lovely gardens and views of the countryside/hills. Room facilities good, comfy & cosy. I plan to stay here again when next visiting the area. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Good base for lots of things. great walking area. I used it as a base for a golfing break as it's in the centre of a triangle of some great links golf courses incl St David's [Harlech], Aberdovey, and Porthmadog, And the spectacular Welshpool GC with amazing views over 5 counties! The wonderful village of Portmeirion [famous for it's use in the 60's TV series 'The Prisoner'] is not too far away either
Great cottage in a great town. Also we were surprised at 2 bathrooms! Plus the kids got there own floor in the attic conversion so that was an added bonus. The cottage is a large living/dining room and a galley kitchen at the end. first floor is mum and dad room with own bathroom then top floor is a double and a single with another bathroom so great. Parking is just up the road and Dolgellau is as convenient and well stocked as it is beautiful. Try days out to Barmouth, Aberdovey, Tywyn, Harlech and Co-ed Y Brennan as well!
A lovely cozy traditional cottage in the heart of the town, convenient for all local amenities and discovering the area. Overall the cottage was exceptionally clean and tidy, tastefully decorated and well equipped, with some nice views from a couple of windows. Prior to our stay the owner was helpful and communicative and further provided some very nice "welcome gifts" for when we arrived. Parking was always possible, either in the spaces opposite or a short distance up the road. Overall a fantastic stay.
This B&B was very deceptive. Outside facade did not indicate what the rooms were like.
We stayed in the Gwendd room which was tastefully refurbished. Bathroom was also fabulous.
Little extras in the room were very much appreciated - nespresso machine, nibbles, cakes, chips,
shortbreads and still and sparkling water in the mini fridge - all complimentary.
Dolgellau was an intersting market town with much history and many hotels where we felt very welcome in.
B & B was a 5 min walk into the centre.
The location of the hotel was excellent with views through the valleys at Dolgellau. The town itself wasn't busy but had everything we needed. The hotel was very clean and tidy and a welcoming host. The room was spacious although the 4 post bed was a little short for me as I am 6'3", my feet were through the footboard rungs, but not really an issue. Breakfast was good, we ordered a cooked breakfast which was freshly cooked for us and there was tea/coffee/toast etc available to us.
Lovely continental breakfast laid out in the room, with mini fridge just outside (wine and beer glasses and bottle opener a nice touch!)
Fantastic room and view, and Serafina and Neal made me extremely welcome in their home.
A proper bath very welcome after long days on the hills! -the private bathroom just along the corridor
A wonderful base in Dolgellau -thank you
Lovely B&B Annexe on a hillside with great views over Dolgellau and Cadair Idris mountain. The roomy annexe had a large double bed, bunk beds,a seating area with lovely views, a Kitchenette with small fridge but no cooker, and a small ensuite shower room. Our hosts Norma and Robert were very friendly. The English breakfasts were superb.
Fantastic location, close to Dolgellau village, shops, pubs and places to eat. The site and accommodation was spotless and comfy, had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend to friends and family and already have done so since returning home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Plas Gwyn B&B. The owners were welcoming and friendly, giving great advice on walks and things to do and see in the local area. The bed and room were very comfortable, bathroom was great and the breakfasts were fantastic. We would return without hesitation on a future visit to Dolgellau.
Caroline & Kevin were FANTASTIC hosts! The B&B was lovely and the food exceptional! You literally walk out of the B&B and you are right in the town centre of Dolgellau. We would love to stay again in the future! Caroline and Kevin were very helpful with information of the area/things to do/places to go! Thank you!
Excellent hosts with a really interesting and characterful B&B full of items from their extensive travels. Great location in a quiet area but still very near the centre of Delgellau and all facilities. Lovely views of the surrounding area. Hosts were very accommodating to an early rise, and breakfast was excellent.
The hotel manager, Kasia, was an absolute delight. Her grace and charm added immensely to our visit. The location was near hiking trails and a delightful pub across the 30 pence walking bridge. The view from the grounds was outstanding across the estuary.
On the off set the accommodation was set in a really nice area with lovely scenery. The staff seemed very pleasant (when you could get them) and helpful. The design of the place was nice, just run down in a lot of places.
The staff, the food, the comfort was all outstanding. I have no doubt that the owners will manage to fix this hotel as the first 6star accommodation in Wales. I can not fault their devotion to this aim.
We loved our stay at the Royal Ship. It was a charming hotel in a beautiful quant village. The rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was very friendly. The restaurant was great also.
Clean, comfortable room; comfortable beds; quiet location but close to city; refrigerator available: petrol station with minimart nearby; ample parking onsite; helpful staff
Room was great, very clean and spacious. Good breakfast with great choice. Staff were all very helpful and courteous. Would go there again if going to that area of Wales.
